    Hi Paul and thanks.
Spot on as usual with your comments and analysis.
Delighted to get a point from that one as for so long we looked very fragile. For long stretches it appeared to be a very experienced and physically strong Wrexham against a lightweight City.
Our midfield was virtually non- existent for most of the first half and Ashford, for all of his pre-season success as a 10, looked lost and struggled to get into the match. Add that to underwhelming performances from our wingers and no wonder we were over-run. No decent service to Salech, with the main hope being the driving runs of Moylan.
He does look some player and a really good acquisition. Appears to be exactly the sort of player and character that we have been lacking and seems an instant crowd favourite. Has a few tricks up his sleeve and a real engine on him too.
Wrexham will obviously be ruing their many missed chances as we were clearly struggling with anything in the air and with quick balls moved around the box – our familiar weaknesses. However, all credit for hanging on and a decent shift by the collective defence and Scanlon in particular who does offer something different – raw pace being one of them.
As you state, the team looked unbalanced from the start and also hope BBM has learned a big lesson – and also manages to get a deal or two over the line asap. The need for a strong and commanding central defender being paramount.
Having said all of that, it was a great comeback which I didn’t see coming when we were trapped in the bottom left corner by our penalty box with the injury time clock already beyond 5 minutes. Well done to Rueben for getting us out of that area with no little skill – and then the crowning glory moment a couple of minutes later.
Great atmosphere throughout the night and a real buzz around the ground and before/after. A reminder that the Championship is going to be tough and we need a find another level on top of last year. Don’t think many teams will sit back and let us play our pretty stuff so we have to adapt quickly. In BBM we trust?
