Thanks for your resumé of the game Paul. Filled in a bit for me as I was unable to get the radio commentary, being in deepest Devon over the weekend.

I think you’ve been very kind & accepting of the current CB crisis at the City. I say crisis, because that’s exactly what it is & I’m afraid to say that BBM appears to have been somewhat lax or almost unconcerned about our lack of defensive bodies. You touched on it in your piece that BBM AND the powers that be at the club (Vinny et al) have known about the CB injury issues for weeks&weeks and for nothing to have been done about it before the start of the season, shows either a complete lack of organisation(or planning) or that someone has put the stoppers on more cover being brought in & more money being spent. It also begs the question, why on earth was Daaland loaned out?

There are far too many unanswered questions in all this and BBM doesn’t strike me as the sort of bloke who would be happy with this situation or to have trusted to chance, that Lawlor & Chambers would have been back in the short term. It strikes me as being bizarre that it seems we have done absolutely “tap all” about getting at least some cover in, even if for the short term. I suspect that there’s more to all this, than we’ll ever know.

Despite all that, I was amazed but not surprised, to hear that for much of yesterday’s game, we were able to control things and hold out for the draw. Credit must go to the whole team & subs for achieving that.

Not sure how BBM is going to approach Tuesday’s cup game v Norwich but suspect that there will be more than a few “kids” involved. As for next Sat v The Blades. Oh dear.?
