Six decades of Cardiff City v Norwich City matches.

Six questions about tonight’s opponents with a City connection in all of them, I’ll post the answers on here tomorrow.

60s. The player stood third right in the back row of this photo scored for City in a match against Norwich during this decade, he was born in Stockton on Tees on 30 July 1934 and died on 9 April 1966, who is he?

70s. He only had to wait another fortnight for his first ever City appearance, but which player, capped more than fifty times by his country in a career which saw him play over five hundred matches, was an unused sub for us in a game against Norwich that was featured on Match of the Day during this decade?

80s. His only appearance against Norwich for us came in this decade when he played in an unaccustomed position in a game at Carrow Road. When he left us a few months later, he marked his debut for his new club by scoring past Peter Shilton after just two minutes, but can you name him?

90s. Who is this?

00s. Can you recognise the member of a losing Norwich side against Cardiff during this decade from this list of the clubs he played first team football for – Manchester United, Royal Antwerp, Reading, Burnley, West Ham, Stoke, Norwich, MK Dons and Cambridge United?

10s. The player pictured shares his name with a First Division title winner from forty eight years ago and was a member of the Norwich squad in their last meeting with City, can you name him?

He scored three times for Norwich, but put through his own net in a 3-1 Norwich win over us at Ninian Park in December 1964.

70s. John McClelland was on the bench for us in the 1-1 draw at Carrow Road on 7 December 1974.

80s. Gary Bennett played centre forward for us in a 3-0 defeat at Norwich in the Second Leg of a Second Round League Tie between the clubs in 1983 after a goalless draw in the first game – he scored against Southampton on his Sunderland debut in a 3-1 win for his new club.

90s. Mark Walton.

00s. Luke Chadwick was in the Norwich team beaten 2-1 by us at Carrow Road in September 2007.
