    Thanks Paul.
    Great summary, as ever.
Admit to being a bit confused with the starting line up. However, quick turnaround, bookings/ suspensions and utilising the wider squad all made sense.
Bit of a gamble if we hadn’t won , but presumably lots of exposure now to see who can step up when needed.
Impressed with the obvious – Nico and Wilson – but thought Sheehan also did very well and great to see Brooks back near to his best.
Bellamy now knows more about the squad and they do seem to be pulling together and capable of good attacking football.
Only disappointment was the City- like finishing which stopped us winning by a bigger margin. Shame Harris didn’t get any reward for all his efforts.
Fingers crossed for next 2 games, but can’t argue with our unbeaten run so far in the new regime.
Been a nice diversion – back to more local worries come Saturday!

  2. The other Bob Wilson says:

Thanks Huw, how we do with our tough last two fixtures next month will be governed by how many of our injured players can return. Unfortunately, Ampadu won’t be one of them because I thought we really missed him in Iceland and Turkey’s going to be tougher than that – wouldn’t be surprised to see Sheehan start in that game,
As for City, the air of complacency is as much of an annoyance as the ineptitude we’ve become used to is. Clearly, they sacked Bulut without having a clue who his successor was going to be and, surprise, surprise it seems we’re ending up with a caretaker manager who has made one very big error in his three games in charge so far to take us into the second half of the season. How is Riza going to feel if he’s just there to keep the managerial seat warm until Bilic arrives in January and is Bilic really that good that he justifies a four month wait for him to become available anyway?
