  1. Barry cole says:

Great stats Paul but not sure Richards improves what we already have. Gunter for me I am afraid.
At last I see a plan even though we are looking at youngsters and more Welsh players I can see an end game.
What a difference in management from slade even the flexible systems used against Shrewsbury were a pleasure after the stupid and rigid 4-4-2 employed by a manager way out of his depth. I hope charlton are ready for his management, I feel so sorry for them but hey let’s concentrate on the bluebirds.
Nice to see John back in the team what a waste of last season for him.
Not getting my hopes up yet but I certainly feel more positive now than last season.
I really believe that had they sacked slade after the Shrewsbury cup game we would now be looking at the premiership.
This season will be a lot harder than last and we still need a couple of good signings to complete the jigsaw.
    So bring it on

  2. Russell says:

Thanks Paul for re awakening from my post footy slumber, brought on by realising were in the close season. It’s good to see that we have moved away from pre season unrealistic rumours of buying players either beyond our reach, or those looking for a final swansong with a gullable club

I prey the appearance of John ,and James is proof we will at long last see younger energetic talent been given a chance , it’s not just Slade who has failed on that front, I distinctly recall DJ handling of Hunter and Ramsey, and his reliance on older loan players well over the hill.

Tactically we could benefit from a flexible approach, rather a static readable approach, I’m sure Slade as a big fan of quality blogs is picking up on Paul’s comments and vibes as we speak.

I’m quietly optimistic about this year after the thrashing of the mighty Shrew’s our old Welsh Cup foes of way back when ,where we trying to ignite that famous glorious cup.

I don’t think we need a great deal extra in terms of signings, we have good talent in the squad they just need confidence of direction, we can’t afford this late in the summer a mass turnaround, which I dont think will happen as our owner is much more switched on these days. And we are run on better lines than the nieve days Malky n Moody, the lesser talented M&M’s crew’s.

Thanks for the upload Paul, please note I carefully avoided any covert political comment.

  3. The other Bob Wilson says:

I agree about Gunter Barry, but he’s just signed a new contract at Reading and so I think we’d have to sell someone like Marshall, Manga, Noone or Ralls to get the sort of money we’d need to sign someone like him.
I think if Russell Slade ever got to read this blog, he’d see it as an example of what not to do Russell! On the subject of new signings, I wonder if they should take priority over trying to sort the contract situations out of some of those who already here?
