Thanks Paul. I’ve mentioned Tutonda and Healey before on this blog and normally I’d say it was encouraging to think we have promising players coming through the system. Unfortunately, the chances are that the best most can hope for under the present manager is a loan elsewhere or being released.
I read elsewhere that he wasn’t even at the game last night which, if true, I think is appalling.

Why not start Harris in Noone’s place?

Thanks Clive and Colin. I’ve just checked and I saw all of our home Under 21 League fixtures this season. Unlike in other seasons, more than half of these matches were played away from Cardiff City Stadium and I saw Russell Slade watching all of them bar one at some time in the game. On the other hand, I cannot recall seeing him once in the four games played at Cardiff City Stadium, but this doesn’t mean he wasn’t there – unlike at Leckwith and the Vale, it’s hard, if not impossible, to see everyone who is watching at Cardiff City Stadium and it would be a bit odd if, having been at so many matches at other venues, he chose not to bother whenever we played at the main ground.
So, I would guess that it was most likely that our manager watched bits of last night’s match at least – for me, the question is will he act on what he saw?
If, as I suspect, we are out of the Play Off race by Saturday night, the most interesting aspect of our last match against Birmingham for me will be whether our manager is willing to give some game time to the two players you mention Clive (as well as one or two other of our younger players). Based on what we saw last season the most likely answer is no, but Mr Slade was able to defend his “safe” selections during the final couple of months of last season by saying that all of the most likely young candidates for inclusion in one of those twelve or so meaningless matches we played were already out on loan getting first team football elsewhere – that’s just not true this season with John, Healey, Tutonda and Kennedy, for example, all back here after earlier loan spells.
As for Kadeem Harris Colin, I’m always arguing for our manager to put more faith in youth, but I think including Kadeem in the starting line up for such a big game may be taking things a bit far and I could see him getting terrible stick if we lost with Harris having a quiet match. On the other hand, as I mentioned in my piece, I think Kadeem is playing well enough and is confident enough to, hopefully, make another good contribution as an impact sub.

Cheers. You’ve placated me as to the manager’s whereabouts but not his tactical ability!
