jOSH Yorwerth is an outstanding up and coming young player, I first saw him in a trial match at Barry Towns ground in a under 14 trial I was a scout at the time for City .This story has a twist to it, he was out standing at the trial but when the under 14 coaching staff made a list of players they wanted to see again
he was not on it ,I could not believe it,i went to the senior scout at the time and told him they have missed a top player and we have got to get him in again for the next trial ,witch they did thank god ,he has a great chance of being a top player for Cardiff City and Wales ,the best of luck to him.

Hello Rod and thanks for that interesting story. I first became aware of Josh when I saw him in the Wales Under 16 side that stuffed England 4-0 in the victory Shield – I can remember him scoring a last minute equaliser from miles out in the next match against Scotland. Even then he had a command and presence about him which marked him out as someone who had a chance of making it. Thinking about it, I reckon last night was the best performance I’ve seen from him in a City shirt – he did all of the basic things you’d expect from a centreback very well, but was also assured and, nearly always, accurate in his passing.

Paul, thanks for your thoughts – I caught the first half on YouTube, which I was very pleased to be able to watch. MacCauley Southam and Tyler Roche caught the eye and I agree that the defensive line was very composed – some good distribution which one or two of our first team would do well to take note of… Rod – fascinating view from the other side, just showing how fine a line these lads tread between success and failure. Have had a few good friends fail at trials and talk wryly about what could have been.
Looking forward to tonight’s game and seeing some of the peripheral figures get some game time, hopefully Kadeem Harris will get the chance to impress (my equivalent to Dai’s Brayford obsession I think!). Reading Port Vale reports, they are likely to put out a changed/wakened side, so no reason we shouldn’t progress, which means that finally I will be able to go to a home game as the stars align – I’ll be in UK when City play at home for the first time since 2012!

Don’t know if you’ve seen them yet Matt, but there were some very good goals in last night’s match – hope we get a home draw so you can get to see a game when you visit home.
