A wonderful and thoughtful piece from you Paul. One of the best you have ever written.
You covered all aspects of the game, very thoughtfully indeed.
Just one slight query: surely the Man of the Match award should have gone to the same guy in both games?
I refer of course to Whitchurch’s very own …
That said, Wayne Hennessey will be rightly peeved to be overlooked for Friday!
    Kindest,
    Dai.

  2. The other Bob Wilson says:

Thanks very much Dai. I thought Gareth Bale had a pretty ordinary game by his standards on Friday – he was at something like his best in the last twenty minutes or so, but, up until then, he’d been guilty of some careless play which saw him give the ball away cheaply on quite a few occasions – I thought there were others (including Hennessey – my Welsh man of the match) who put in a better ninety minute performance than him. I’d agree that Bale was our best player on Monday, but, Ledley, Chester and Ashley Williams were good again and I’d have them down as stronger contenders for best Welsh player over both games than Bale.
