  1. Andrew says:

    Thanks for the report.

Gillingham team was 9 first year pro’s 1 youth team and 1 senior goalkeeper. Subs 1 youth team and 1 first year pro, so this was very good result for the Gills.

  2. The other Bob Wilson says:

No problem, thank you Andrew. Glen Morris was the only name I recognised from the Gillingham team and, having checked on Soccerbase, I can see why! Besides Morris, the only players I could find on there in the squad last night who had any first team experience were Mahlon Romeo and Aaron Millbank, who both had just one appearance to their credit. So, you’re right, what a great result for your team – was pretty impressed with your central defenders (Staunton and Dickenson?) and the number five who played in a defensive midfield role in front of them (Bent).

  3. Andrew says:

We signed 8 from last years youth team on pro deals which is a record for the club. I think Staunton is the standout player in our dev squad.

Dickenson is captain on the youth team this season.

Bent was signed from a local non league club at 17 having been playing mens football.

The dev squad only played friendly games last season, so hopefully being in the new league and cup and playing at proper grounds will help their development.
