The talented Tony Pickrell.

Coymay

Good enough to have played regularly for the last City side to feature in the top flight in 1961/62, Tony Pickrell, who was forced to quit the game at just nineteen after contracting Tuberculosis, is also a very good cartoonist. His son Adrian has provided me with a cartoon Tony did recently of his team mates from over fifty years ago. I hope it will bring back some great memories for those old enough to have seen these players perform for the club, but, even for those of us who don’t (quite!) go back that far, it’s still well worth a look – thanks Adrian, but, in particular, thanks to your dad.

Tony's cartoon.
