Six decades of Third Round FA Cup matches.

CoymayA change of format this week. With  so few previous matches with Macclesfield to choose from, I’ve decided to set questions about City in the Third Round of the FA Cup over the past six decades – answers tomorrow.

60’s. To the nearest thousand, what was the combined attendance total for the two Third Round ties played between City and Arsenal in 1969.

70’s. City played Leeds twice in the FA Cup during this decade, but who scored our only goal in these matches in a Third Round tie at Elland Road in 1975.

80’s. Why didn’t City fans celebrate a Buchanan goal in one of our Third Round ties during this decade?

90’s. City only reached the Third Round on four occasions during this decade, but twice managed to pull off giant killing acts by beating sides from a higher division – Middlesbrough in 93/94 were one of our victims, but who were the other “giants” we beat to reach the Fourth Round?

00’s. Two members of the Sheffield United team which beat us 1-0 at Ninian Park in a Third Round tie in 2004 have played against us this season for the same team – who are they?

10’s. Two players who have scored for us in Third Round ties during this decade could be playing against us in eight days time, can you name them?
