Listening to Neil Warnock’s post match interview, it seems that Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was about to sign for another club on the day he he met our manager – Mendez Laing, seen here being congratulated after scoring with his first touch of the ball after coming on as a halftime sub, arrived with, arguably, the least fanfare of any of our summer signings, but I’d say there’s a strong case for saying that he has been the most effective of them so far.*
