As I’ve said before the club is a basketcase and with the way things are going I would forecast our season ticket sales 2015/16 to be their lowest for the past 15 years or so.

    Now who’s fault is that?

  2. Graham says:

I commented on the ‘business’ of Connolly being loaned to Watford and I hope you didn’t misinterpret what I said as finding it acceptable – I don’t, but I didn’t find it ‘bizarre’, i.e. odd, strange, surprising, grotesque, because I think sadly that’s what football generally has become, but especially has for us under Vincent Tan who is in football as a money-making business.
On the other hand, in my comment on your last piece I did say that I hoped never to see Kenwyne Jones in a City shirt again – and that’s because I think his goal-scoring has led to balls so often being pumped up towards him when, if he reaches them, he usually manages to do nothing constructive with them. Mind, he was quite good at defending opposition corners now and then. And I didn’t participate in Steve Tucker’s on-line best City striker partnership vote because I couldn’t vote for Doyle and Revell.
Appalling unbelievable errors over Rhys Healey’s position .. surely something can be sorted out ..?
    As for the appalling mistakes

  3. Graham says:

… sorry – pressed the wrong button and off the comment went just as I was about to list all the other appalling mistakes .. but I did renew my season ticket a few days ago because the Bluebirds is my team .. so I’ll just have to put up with more misery as another season of train journeys from and back to my home in London beckons ..

Mr tan has put a huge amount of money into the club, made mistakes, been badly advised but we would be non league or worse by now if not for. He has clearly decided enough is enough and who can blame him?
What is delaying the renewal of my season ticket is simple, who will be at the club next year for “business reasons”

  5. The other Bob Wilson says:

As always, thanks to everyone for their replies. Greypawn, I’m not sure I’d say fifteen years, but I definitely think we are heading for the lowest season ticket sales since the season of our FA Cup Final appearance. Graham, I take your point about how much more money orientated football has become, but, to the best of my knowledge, no club has been as keen to loan out first team players in from January onwards in a Championship season as we are. I broadly agree with you about Kenwyne Jones – he has been good at times this season, but, when I measure his overall contribution against how much he is costing us, I conclude that we have not had our moneys worth over the past seven months. I renewed my season ticket a fortnight ago – around Christmas time, I made a return to blue the condition for me renewing and so I felt obliged to get one when that happened, but I did so with the least amount of enthusiasm I’ve had in ages.
Howard, I’ve been very critical of Mr Tan at times and I think his stubborness in insisting on appointing CEOs with little or no football experience has cost us greatly at times, but I cannot blame him if he is now looking to get some of his money back. I would say mind that, for me, his best chance of getting a significant portion of that £100 million plus back is through us getting promoted and, unless Russell Slade (who I feel is going to be here for some time to come) shows an ability to bring in matchwinners on the cheap that he hasn’t done so far, it’s hard to see how this is going to happen under the current conditions.

I’ve heard Abdi Noor is doing well right now and around first team! Get him in there! Loads of clubs sniffing him up as he is out of contract this summer

  7. The other Bob Wilson says:

Abdi Noor is now playing pretty regularly for the Under 21s John and I’m pretty certain the club won’t just release him when he leaves the Academy. He and Tyler Roche are exciting wingers, but i remember a young winger we had who played for Wales all through the ages groups, scored a couple of goals in a big Under 16 win over England, was given a good contract as a 18 year old and we decided he was actually a full back! I don’t see the same thing happen with Abdi who has definitely got something about him, but I’d say he’s still some way off a first team chance at the moment.
